Baldridge Bunch picnic!!

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to welcome the Davises to Utah! On June 27 we will hold a family party to celebrate their move. We hope you can come!!

WHERE: Eastridge Park, 12000 South 1000 East, Sandy http://sandy.utah.gov/government/parks-and-recreation/parks-division/city-parks/eastridge-park.html
DATE: Saturday, June 27
TIME: 5:00 pm - ?? (10 pm or earlier)

Please bring your own meat for your family. If you want to barbecue it, we'll have a barbecue available for cooking from 5 - 5:30 pm. Please also bring either a salad or a dessert. Please let me know what you're going to bring so I can monitor it a little.

Fonoimoanas will provide the barbecue supplies, paper products, tablecloths, and water to drink.

We'll also plan some games (i.e. egg toss). There is no playground at this park (so sad), but as you can see on the website, there is a ball field. Please bring softball equipment and we'll try to put a game together!! Bring anything else you can think of to keep your little ones entertained.

2009 Reunion Info

When: Thurs, Aug 20 - Sat, Aug 22
Where: Heber Valley YW Camp (Utah)
Who: Everyone!

Here is Uncle Steve's message:

Hi Family,

Here is the information for next year’s family reunion, to be held Aug. 20-22 (Thursday—Saturday) at the Heber Valley YW Camp. We decided to go with this because, for most of us, it is close, available and cheap, and almost brand-new. We hope to have the kind of turnout that we had at Island Park a few years ago, when the entire family showed up, and a good time was had by all.

The Heber Valley Camp is owned and operated by the Church, and is dedicated primarily to reservations of Young Women groups from around the area. Because of this, available reservations for private groups are extremely limited. I know that the late August date may have interference with the start of the school year, but no other times were available, so I hope that you can find a way to work around any scheduling conflicts.

The campground consists of seven camps, and we are reserved at the Bertha Stone Reeder camp, campsite #5, which is the farthest camp from the entrance to the campground. It consists of four cabins which sleep 16 apiece, and we also have reserved the main pavilion, which sleeps an additional 16—total of 80. To cover the cost of the reservation, I need to collect $10 for each bed you need. This will cover both nights. Once I have collected enough to cover the reservation, any additional funds will go towards food purchases. Food and cooking assignments will be made at a later date, when we have a better idea of who is coming. Everyone will need to bring their own bedding, including some kind of mattress, unless you don’t mind sleeping on a wooden surface.

The camp is at a high elevation and has a number of hiking trails around it. There is a beach volleyball court right next to it, and a small lake nearby with canoes for rent for $1/hour. There is a possibility that the lake will not have sufficient water in it for canoeing, due to the time of year; we’ll just have to wait and see. It is not open on Sunday, which means we need to check out on Saturday before 5:00pm.

The campground is about 60 miles from Salt Lake City, and is fairly easy to find. Directions and photographs can be found at the website: www.hebervalleycamp.org I suggest you download and print the directions and map before starting out.

Please get your confirmations and checks to me when possible, so I can start making sleeping assignments. We hope everyone in the family can make it so we can have a great time together with our increasingly large family.

5 Things You'll Never Hear Me Say

Here are my 5 to get us started. Make sure to leave a post for yourself, or even for someone else. EVERYONE is invited!

1) No thanks, I've had enough sweets for today
2) It's ok honey, I don't need a back massage today
3) Another messy diaper that leaked through the diaper, shorts, and runs from your toes to your ears... YIPEE!
4) I am so glad Winter is coming! There's nothing like scary driving, shorter days and taking twice as long to get out the door.
5) Wow! Everyone in the family is using the Baldridge Blog! :) (j/k, I would actually love to say this one day)

FAVORITE THINGS

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad... I simple remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad!

Happy 60th!

Grandma & Grandpa just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Congratulations! You both are such great examples to us all individually and even moreso as a wonderful couple. Lots of love!
